Motorola CP185
I have a quick question on this model. I purchased it and had it programmed to what i needed and im hoping the vender didnt "Password Code" it and lock the radio. Is this model pass code able or will i be okay? Also will the new narrow band AAR channels with the 12.5khz with 7.5khz step spacing work ok on it. Thanks.

- What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

If the codeplug is password protected, than you'll need to get it to read/write to the radio.
The CP185 will NOT do 7.5Khz synthesizer steps, only 12.5 and 25. You'll need to get a higher end radio such as an HT1000 rev DN to do those channel steps.

Well, that was stupid to release a new model that will not do that step on frequency.

Its mostly just gonna be used to receive only, will it work just fine on the 12.5khz for that, also if the codeplug is protected will the radio still function just wont be able to program it if its password protected. This is my first motorola so bare with me im kinda new to all this. Thanks
Re: Motorola CP185
not sure if you start with a dummy codeplug and force it into CP185 or not.I do that with HYT all the time

It's not a new model. It's been out for some time.wkr518 wrote:Well, that was stupid to release a new model that will not do that step on frequency.

Re: Motorola CP185
did you try cloning another radio ? I know motorola is getting stupid with cracking a password radio.. I know cloning sometimes doesn't work, but the only thing that will work is a flash upgrade
