What's the difference between these HHCH Spectra cables?

Post by hamptonbeach »

Is there any functional difference between these 2 HHCH Spectra cables?

HLN6092A and HKN6096B ????

The first is for a Spectra, the second for an Astro Spectra.
Physically they are the same ... are they interchangable?

They are wired differently, and magic smoke will be released if you try to interchange them.

I don't have the pinouts handy but Jason (kb9kst) knows the skinny.

I've toked on some of that magic smoke in the past, and it wasn't that bad ... :)

I only asked becasue I saw a whole Spectra A3 setup for the price of a HKN6096B cable and thought I could gat a cable and have some free spare spectra parts.
Too good to be true ...
