MT1000 programming question

Post by jefflaur1 »

With the MT1000 can the band split be changed in the RSS in the "BANDSPLIT" section? I'd like to widen it out to the 136mhz selection in order to program added 2m repeaters. OR is this already part of the radio's personality that can not be changed? Generally I will read the radio and save the existing codeplug in the ARCHIVE and I assume the BANDSPLIT will be a part of that..but can it be changed? Any added input for programming just slightly out of band?

You can change he bandsplit of that radio, but if the range is too wide, then you will have troubles, but changing from 146-174 down to 136-160.8, then you should not have problems, but you also need to realign the radio and set levels again as you made some distinct changes in the codeplug data, such as squelch levels, deviation and receiver sensitivity and so on.
I used to get all the odd split radios and used that single 'trick' to change he I.F bandsplit and realigned the radio, and I have never been sorry.
