XTL5000 CPS Channel Up/Down W9

Post by SoCalRescue »

Hey All,

I am new to programming XTL5000's, specifically with the W9 head. For some reason on the control head window to program the keys only ZN up and ZN down show up as options but I cannot find the Chn Up/ down choices in any of the drop down windows. Anyone know where I can find them/what I am doing wrong? Would appreciate it!

That would be because channel (mode) selection is performed by dedicated buttons on those type of heads. The button is labeled "MODE" and cannot be assigned to anywhere else on the head.

Ok so even the "chan" button you press that enables you to manual type in the channel # you want with the dtmf pad is disabled I guess because that won't come up either.

If you hold down the hold button, the channel will start flashing you then can manually type the channel number you want then press the home button again and it will be on that channel. Hope this helps.

Great, didn't know if that carried over from the Astro spectra! Thanks! That function must be there for 05 heads to scroll through with the knob if it isn't configured to do that already. Thanks again.
