what does the rest of it look like?

Re: Which cable???????
That looks like it is for the XTS series radios. Need to know if there is a part number on the cable and what the other end of it looks like.

Re: Which cable???????
what's on the other end? could be ht1000, mts2000, xts? but if somebody just gave it to you it's probablly for an ht1000. if the other end is usb and it's a factory cable then it's for the xts's

Re: Which cable???????
or EF Johnson 5100 51SL...
Re: Which cable???????
Regardless of the type of connection on the computer end, the radio connector is for a Jedi or XTS, or also an E.F Johnson.
There is also a probability it can also be used with a Datron as well.

Re: Which cable???????
It is NOT XTS. Pins in the wrong place.
Re: Which cable???????
the pins match my factory EFJ cable, no more, no less. Also the EFJ's support RS232 comms so no level converters needed.

If this is the case, it will not work on any Motorola portable radios. Just connect it to the 9 pin serial port and go for it. Next problem you will have is getting the right version of the software to match your portable.

Re: Which cable???????
I'm with Will. If it's a programming cable, it definitely does not match any of the XTS programming cables I have, Rib type or RIBless. Real good chance n7maq is on to something as it matches the hand written pinout I have for the EFJ 51xx.
curmudgeon.....and I like it.

Re: Which cable???????
my factory xts cable has two cables coming out of the radio connector, the white cable is usb and the black one is a 25 pin and has part number rkn4105a and has 9 of the 16 pins in the radio connector. my ht1000 cable only has 3 of the 16 pins.

Re: Which cable???????
My OEM rs232 XTS cable has all but one slot filled. My OEM Jedi/XTS3000 has all the pins
