Motorola GTX programming problem

Post by WF8S »

I am trying to program a couple GTX radios, one HT and one mobile. I have verified that they are 900Mhz band units and are fully functional.

However when I connect them to reprogram them I can not read the current code plugs? I have version R010100 & R020001 software and when I try to read the code plug on either radio I am told that this software is not the correct software for programming these radios???

Is there another or newer version of RSS that I need or am I just screwed with these radios as they are from recent eBay auctions, plus I have 4 more GTX ht's on the way...

Please help!

There is an R04.00.xx version dated October 2000. That's probably the latest. Your radios were probably programmed with that and the older software will not work with radios that were programmed with newer versions. Many other Motorola radios suffer the same situation.

Most recent version is R04.00.01. GTX Lab won't retrograde a codeplug either.. once they're "too new", that's it.
