Motorola GTX & MFJ1279 sound card interface

Post by WF8S »

Hello,

I am trying to setup my MFJ-1279 Sound Card Interface to a Motorola GTX radio for use as the transmit side of a repeater using "pcrepeatercontroller" software.

I have followed the 1279's manual and set it up for the following pinout:

6 PTT
5 Mic Audio
4 Ground

No other pins are connected.

The computer keys the interface with no problems, but the 1279 does not key the radio?

As I understand it the GTX uses the same mic. pinout as the Maxtrac so is there something I am missing???

Those are the correct pins but perhaps you're counting them from the wrong end.

Looking into the front of the GTX radio, the tab is on the bottom and pin 1 is on the right. This is probably NOT the same way other manufacturers number the pins on a modular connector.
