MCS2000 One Head 2 Units

Post by candrist »

I am debating on replacing my Ham Radio mobile unit with 1 VHF and 1 UHF MCS2000.

I know that Motorola does not make a cable to do this, but I was going to take 2 cables and use a manual switch to switch between the 2 units.

Does anybody know if this will actually work? It would essentially be the same as moving one head from one unit to the other.

Thanks,

The MCS2000 will not do this. I'd recommend looking at the dual deck Kenwood TK-*30 or *90 series. It is not as simple as finding / making a cable to achieve this solution. The radios boot process is dependent on the radio head being appropriately hooked up, and the serial protocol between heads & RF decks will be disrupted.

Sorry.
