MCS2000 Control Head type change?

Post by Roadwolf »

Greetings,

I am wondering if anyone can kind of bring me up to date on the possibilities of changing the configuration of MCS2000 radios to set them to use different control heads then their model specifies. I am also wondering if there is any information on changing the primary operation / type of previously trunking MCS2000's to be conventional. I know it is possible, but haven't done it myself, and wanted to ask before i bricked a radio or two.

Thanks all,

MTSX Lab and a s-record or DOS codeplug archive from a conventional radio with the desired head type matching your radio's range/bandsplit.

Trunking radios can still be programmed with conventional channels up to the radio's limit, you just won't have MDC capability.
