Jedi Series Gang Charger Problem

Post by btrains »

I have a NTN 1177 Jedi Gang Charger that has been working fine for a few years. This week however, I noticed a problem that has developed with it. After an undetermined amount of time, it shuts off. All of the status LEDs turn off and the charger quits charging. I have to unplug the charger and plug it back in, at which point it does the self test and will commence charging any batteries in the bays. However, after a certain amount of time, all of the LEDs go out and the charger doesn't do anything. I don't even know if the batteries fully charge or not.

Is there anything I can look at? Or is it time to find a new charger?

Either the chargers logic circuit has gone thermal or there's a PS problem (those Aztec PS are quite problematic as they become older). Fan still working ?

Yes, the fan still works just fine when all slots require charging.
