CM300 Alpha/Numeric Display

Post by 1crazymax »

I recenty purchased a CM300 mobile. When I turnded the radio on it only have two channels set up the first had WEATHER and the second had REPTR. When I read the radio I was able to delete the two groups and add the 32 channels for programming. I've looked at serveral User Guides and Manuals for the CM300 and the only thing I've seen mentioned about entering characters on the display, shows using a DTMF microphone. To name the channels other than PERS1 PERS2 etc. will I have to get one of these mics, or can it be done with the P1 and P2 menu buttons? Thanks for any light which may be shed on this issue.

You do it with the CPS. Right click on the PERS1, PERS2, etc, click rename (or hit F2 IIRC) and name it what you want, up to 8 characters.
