HT1250 not working with microphone

Hi all,

I have a 1250 that works great by itself but when I attach a mic to it,
It does not transmit or receive from the mic. It's
Not the mics I've tried because they work fine on other 1250s. Any ideas? Thanks!

I would say it is a flex issue,or the radio was taken apart and the flex was not reseated correctly.

Can an amateur like me fix something like this? I don't know too much about these things...

Or the side contacts them selves could be quite dirty. A pencil eraser might help but SD70MAC's probably nailed it.

Its not all that hard to do if you have had experience taking apart radios. But if you haven't, there's fragile flex cables that you could damage.

Is there someone that could point me to how to check on these cables? The contacts are quite clean... Thanks for the info
