OK...I know Nextel is a very touchy topic here, but, I need someone to verify for me that the RSS for the i370 and r370XL radios are indeed the same.

I recently had the opportunity to acquire a few r370xl's and Nextel "Technical Support" claims that the "software" can't be upgraded to "cross fleets". I maintain that since the same RSS is being used for the i370/i600 and those models can "cross fleets" for two way radio use, one would be able to load it into the r370xl and give it the same capability.

Answers would be greatly appreciated to make the point to Nextel's "Technical Support" folks here in NYC.

Thanks,
Mark

i think you are going to get into a firmware issue with the fone...

i betcha the firmware won't support cross-fleeting, which is why they gave you the "no way" answer!

I thought crossfleeting had to do with their end of the equation. Opening up the DAP's so that you dont have to be on the same account. That is why you would type in (for instance) 159*96*8184 (DAP, Metro code, PrvtID) Who knows...nextel pisses me off anyways. I know Waste Management has a whole bunch of R370XL's and M and B370 mobiles and bases, and they all support it, all we had to do was call in and ask for the feature to be turned on.
