xts2500 and QCII

Post by NHfirefighter »

So I am trying to program one personality on my XTS2500 to work like a pager channel (think minitor). When on this personality the radio will not be in scan. What I can't seem to figure out is what I need to set everything to so it is muted until the correct QC page is received. At that point I would want it to unmute until the appropriately programmed button is pressed if possible.

The radio specs are XTS2500i model III, Host and DSP 17.00.02, Bravo 122 processor.

Thanks for any help.

Just set the personality up for QCII, and then add VMUT to the menu items and assign it to a button. Once pressed, it will make the same sound like you are enabling scan on/off but regards to muting the radio traffic or not. Once the QCII is decoded, the radio will be unmuted.

Instead of using the Voice Mute you can also do this:

Set up a personality for QCII. Go to the QCII tab and check the selective call decode, then for the unmute type select "AND". that will mute the channel unless the correct tones come through.
