APX7000 Tork Screw Removel?

Post by ds49 »

Does anyone know how to remove a tork screw from the APX7000 housing that is stripped?

Thanks

Very carefully!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I guess there are several ways you could go about it, you could drill the head off the screw and once you've removed the case (and tension/torsion is no longer an issue) you should be able to unscrew the remaining threaded part without too much trouble?

There are also left-handed drill bits available that you run in reverse with the hope of snagging and loosening the screw? And a few specialized tools for removing broken studs and the like but the trouble you're going to have there is the size of the screw in question being so small?

Whatever you do, I hope you have the hands of a surgeon, otherwise take the whole thing to an engineering shop and ask them to do it for you?

I was able to drill the head off and twist the screww out. Thank you for your information.
