GR300 modify?

Post by hfd921 »

Here is my question, We currently operate a GR300 repeater, its has two raduis gm300's. But i would like to up the power out put quite a bit on the TX radio. Is there a way with out a whole lot of modification to add a 100watt radio to it such as a Sprecta or Syntor? Were only putting out 35 watts. I want to put out 100 watts for max range. Is there another soultion, were on a super tight budget.

Add an RFPA and replace the duplexer.

Search EBay for a higher power narrowbandable repeater like a Quantar or a MTR2K.

Increase the antenna height by a significant factor.

Increase the antenna gain.

On the other hand, if your system needs the additional 5db to function correctly, you should review the overall design. Your best investment might be in a grant writer.
