ADP Hardware vs software encryption

Post by Winger2002 »

Does anybody have any problems running a mix of equipment with ADP encryption? It should not matter that some radios have software and some hardware ADP as long as all the keys match right?

ADP is ADP, the data sent over-the-air is identical in either case, so long as the KID and key match the radio will decrypt.

The only difference is, if any radio needs an algo beside ADP (as well as ADP) then you need to use hardware (a UCM) because you can't use software and hardware encryption at the same time in the same radio.

Works fine, just make sure KID and key match.
