Have you tried looking on the repeater builders site for the information? It is a good source of all sorts of documentation.

Here is a link to get you in the ball park to start looking.

Go look it up in the documents for the Maxtrac. I pointed you to the place to find what you need. You have your ham license. That should have at least provided you with enough background to locate the connection points from the documentation on the site given.

If you want to run the radio without the PA, your going to have to figure out just where you make those power connections. Plus you will have to make the antenna connection as that is also provided through the PA chassis.

kc0sdu,

What version of logic board is in the radio, 5-pin or 16-pin ?

kc0sdu,

You can use pin 5 of the connector that the PA deck plugged into for +12v. This is the far right pin of the 5 pins on the header. Ground is on pin 7 of the 16 pin connector. Or you can try pin pin 10 which is IGN Sense or pin 13 which is SW A+ Sense. The last two may have issues if you need the on/off switch to work or you need high speaker volume.
I'm going from memory here so if you need a more definitive answer I can look when I get to work and have the schematics in hand.

Your making it too easy for Henry. I was hoping that he would take the initiative and go to the Repeater Builder site and go through the information there and find the manuals he needs to locate the connection points needed to fire up the radio.

If you don't motivate a person to go out on their own to search and find, then they will never do it. If he still couldn't find what he needed, then coming back here to ask again will just shore up his personality to step out and learn more.

I have used the two pins on the PA connector that pass the battery to the logic board. The connector is similar to some computer connectors.

Do look up the logic board drawing you have to see what pins and how they are numbered.
