XTS5000 to RIB pinout question

Post by n0vzc »

Hello,
I have a old programming cable for a XTS5000 that was ribless. The cable broke so I now have the part that connects to the radio. I would like to put on a DB25 connector on the cable and connect that to my RIB. Would this work and if so does anyone know the pinout?

Thanks,
Mike

What radios do you own?: APX4K, XTL5K, NX5200, NX700HK

It will not work. All XTS5000 use either USB or direct serial, there is no RIB cable for one.

The computer/CPS will not read a XTS5K codeplug throught the RIB. What you mentioned doing would result in a XTS3K programming cable. I have a PDF of the universal connector on the side of the radio (it's from the Detailed Service Manual) I can email to you. It might help in figuring out the pin-out of the programming cable.
