XTS 5000 & XTS-2500 Question

Post by yardbirdjr »

Hello All!

This might be an off the wall question?

Does Motorola make a programming manual for the XTS 2500 & 5000 series radios?

I am wanting to program my radios to do channel announcement and would like to have a manual to go by and learn how it is done.

I have the latest CPS from Motorola and would like to learn what all the options are that available for these radios.

Any help would greatly be appreciated

Please PM me with information and part numbers

Thanks

I don't know about a manual, but channel announcement is rather simple to configure if you already have the audio clip files themselves. I've not done this with an Astro25 portable before, but I have with an APX 6000 and 7000. The CPS on that platform installs the individual announcement audio files in the following directory:

C:\ProgramData\Motorola\ApxFamilyCPS\Common\VoiceAnnouncementMvaFiles

If you have these .MVA files already (there's over 270 of them on APX CPS), then you're all set. Just use the CPS to enable voice announcement and configure it in each zone channel assignment config. For radio controls to have voice announcement (i.e. scan, direct, etc), configure it under the Voice Announcement Wide section (at least that's what it's called in APX CPS...not sure if it's the same nomenclature in Astro25 CPS.

What radios do you own?: Not enough apparently!

I'm not aware of any programming guides other than the CPS help files, which I've found to be quite useful and easy to navigate.

Thanks!

I knew there was a programming guide for the Jedi Series Radios.

Didn't know if there was one for the XTS-Series.

Thanks again
