Astro Spectra W9 Control Head ???

Post by BigJim »

On an AS HSN 1078D control head what is the function of the spring loaded stainless bar on the back of the circuit board that must be removed when changing control buttons? It's held in place by 2 screws.

I have a head that has striped out threads on one screw. Can the head be used without the stainless bar in place.

Thanks, BJ

My guess is additional support to prevent board flexing when hitting the buttons on the bottom row. I'd get a new face plate.

This is correct. It was an engineering change added after the new circuit board material which was thinner started having circuit failures from flexing.
