I have a dual band APX7500 remote mount with the o5 head. I have not installed it yet because I want to use the o3 head.
I purchased a o3 Front housing service kit PMHN4082A on ebay for $39.00
Not I am looking at buying the o3 back housing service kit PMHN4083A from "M".
Has anyone every put one together like this? Is it complicated? Is there anything special that needs to be done like programming etc?
Thanks

Re: Building Motorola o3 Head
You will also need the pigtail cable (not sure what its part # is) and the appropriate remote mount cables. They are not the same as the O5 cables, though they use the same connections on the TIB.
Ordering a new back kit should give you the current O3 head firmware, otherwise when you first plug it into the radio it will automatically update the firmware for you. No hassling with control head synch firmware or anything like with the XTL radios.

Naw, the back kit is the polycarbonate and the mic clip with a ground lead. The PCB kit is also needed.

Nice expensive piece of plastic then. I looked it up on MOL earlier.
I knew it had to be more expensive to put one together from parts than to just buy one outright.
