FDNY Mic Clip Button Question

FDNY Mic Clip Button Question

Hey guys, another probably dumb question.

I'm planning a DIY in-car setup for my XTS 2500 for road trips using a vehicle charger, antenna rig, and a speaker mic. I notice that the button on the back of the FDNY mic clip looks identical to those on the rear of the mobile radio palm mics, and the clip on the FDNY strap also looks identical to the in-car hang-up clips. Can the FDNY mic clip be used with in-car hang-up clips as well?
