XPR 6550 bricked?

Post by lunzac »

Hi
i was trying to update the firmware on my XPR 6550 using CPS v 9.0. half way through the update an error message came up and now my radio will only show flashzap bootloader version 02.04.00 USB operation ready to download. The radio will not attach to the computer as a radio, but only as the flashzap device. is there a way to fix my radio? is there a way to force the new or old firmware into it even though the CPS doesn't recognize it as a radio? is there something similar to the codeplug/ firmware tool for the waris series that i can use to restore the radio?

any help would be great.

thanks

If it's out of warranty you're actually looking at about $240+ for the flat rate repair. Not sure where the $120 comes from unless that's a customer specific contract.

FlashZap Client and proper firmware should fix it.

I have the same problem with a XPR 6580 that failed during firmware upgrade. I can manually get it into the flashzap mode, but that is not recognized by CPS or Depot, so I can't reflash it.

What is the flashzap client or tool and how is it used? I haven't found anything with a Google search explaining it.
