Hi Guys,
Great forum, and long time onlooker, first registered post.
I've blindly bought a stubby antenna for a Motorola P210 (HT600E in a Black case) that's currently programmed for 449Mhz.
The Antenna is 66mm in length from the bottom of the stud to the antenna tip, and 64mm length measured from the bottom of the plastic shroud to the tip - there is a black ink mark on the bottom of the stud.
I also have some MTS2000 and GP900 Stubby antennas that are longer, and these are - 99mm in length from base of the SMA bolt to antenna tip, and they have a Red plastic ring in the base of the SMA.
Would one of you Gurus be so kind as to enlighten me on the operating frequencies of these, please?
Many thanks in advance,
Damian.
Motorola Genesis antenna help, please.

Re: Motorola Genesis antenna help, please.
Doesn't the diameter of a wire only determine the bandwidth? It's what I'm led to believe from my limited RF experience.
The antenna's do work, but I'm concerned about SWR and don't really fancy blowing the PA stage due to a mismatch, hence my query.
There are no part numbers on these Aerials othewise I would of quoted them.
From the research I've done, I found that the stubby antenna of 79mm with a Black mark is designed for 470-512Mhz, so if mine are indeed designed for UHF then I'm baffled about the shorter length - over 10mm shorter.
I'm trying to establish if anyone here has any of these shorter antenna's with any relevant data.

Unhelpful post removed from thread.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
