CDM1550 Power Button

Post by bcgfdc2 »

I am programming a CDM1550 UHF and after I programmed it it is no longer able to be shut off via the power button in the middle of the volume knob. I cannot find where in the CPS that this is an option/ The radio still powers off with the ignition but it cannot be shut off when the ignition is on via this button.

Does anyone have any ideas what this option is called and where in the CPS it is?

Thanks in advance.

Did you keep an archive of the radio, or do you have a codeplug from another one to blow back in?

What radios do you own?: CDM's, CP's, CM's, and more

Check Radio Configuration ---> Accessory Configuration tab ---> Ignition Sense Type at the very bottom of the tab.

It sounds like it accidentally got set to Follow Ignition Only. Change that to On/Off & Ignition and rewrite the codeplug to the radio.

FWIW, even if you aren't using ignition sense, it's a good idea to always program this feature to On/Off & Ignition. That way, it can be turned On or Off from the front panel button even if moved to another vehicle. A number of posts over the years about this family of mobiles have all centered on this issue.
