Motorola WPLN4079BR BMS - Input Voltage Switch

Post by MotoFAN »

Hi all!

WPLN4079BR is a 110VAC version. But who knows about switching WPLN4079BR to 220-230VAC?

Feq question about:

1. This BMS is transformer based?
2. There is any voltage switch on BMS or inside?
3. If NO for both, how about transformer winding for 220V in 110V version? It's present or 110V version uses different transformer with 110V only winding?

Thanks!

I have one of those, looked thru the manual but none of these questions are covered. In a single unit charger Motorola made the NTN7209 base and then shipped it as a NTN1167, 1168, or 1169 based on the supplied cord. I don't know if this is the case with the the BMS and don't suggest trying it prior to verifying but it's a possibility. The manual shows the 230V Euro version as WPLN4080 and the 230V UK as WPLN4081 if that's of any use.

I just found that the 115v version has a rear fuse holder and the 230v has a circuit breaker according to the manual so it appears they are different units and the possibility of simply a cord change is unlikely.

Thanks for info. But it does not confirm that they are different internally.

Who can take rear panel HW photo of 115V version?

Happy Thanksgiving Day!
