Checklist for GP340 firmware update

Is this everything I need to do a firmware update so that I can get all my radios onto a single codeplug.

1. RIBless serial programming cable that has 4 pins. The original ones are £50, so way to much for me. I'm going for a £15 ebay cable. The only 4 pin ones I've seen have a a com port on the end, no USB. Which makes sense as I need to put a flash adaptor in there.

2. Flash adaptor made from two DB29 sockets and schematic. Looks simple.

3. USB to parallel port adaptor? My lovely computer doesn't have any com ports. Is it a parallel port? So a £2 USB-to-parallel port will do the job?

4. Parallel to serial adaptor (DB29 to DB9). The programming cable has a DB9 connector, whereas the flash adaptor uses DB25, so an adaptor is needed?
