HT1000 Monitor Button Question
I'm new to the board, and I've tried searching the forums for an answer so I apologize if I've missed it. I've had the same Motorola HT1000 VHF ("DN") for the past 13 years for fire department use. They've recently added some new channels and started paging on VHF, so it was taken to the MOTO shop to add new channels and to add the Quick Call II tones to channel 1 which is RX only. After I got it back I noticed that when there is traffic on channel 1 the red light on top flashes but no traffic comes across. I can only hear the traffic if the monitor/squelch button is pressed and held. I can also hold down the monitor/squelch button for several seconds until a beep sounds but then just constant static comes across. It does unmute when the correct Quick Call tones have sounded, but as soon as the dispatcher stops transmitting it mutes again. Is there any way to unmute it so that all the traffic on that channel can be heard or is that something that needs to be set during programming? Thank you for any assistance.
Re: HT1000 Monitor Button Question
The "Busy' light indicates activity on channel 1. Channel 1 is programmed to only un-mute with the correct QC II tones.
The Moto shop probably does not have a clue how to program Fire radios. They should of pgmd a another channel for monitoring and normal radio use, without QC II.
