I also have a Dell Latitude 2GHz w/Serial port and I want to try running Mo-Slo. It boots into Vista. What do I need to do to boot into DOS and is Mo-Slo likely to work? I have a MSF to program and although it has a fail safe recovery mode I want to know that my daughter's laptop will work better

I can buy her another one on eBay. Do I need to reformat the laptop in DOS 6.22 only?

Thank you in advance.
The best way to get into DOS is to boot into it from a Floppy. Problem is many of the newer computers don't have a floppy. It is possible to create a bootable CD that will do the same thing. Don't forget to change the BIOS setting for what device you want to boot from first.
You might also have to turn off any cache that the computer might have running because of the BIOS settings. Sometime you can turn it off in the BIOS and if that is not an option, you might have to fine a small program that runs under DOS to do the same thing. One of them is called "cacheoff.com" and works good. You run that file before you start any of the radio programming software.
Remember the DOS software can not control a USB port, so you will need a true serial port on the computer.
