MCS2000 odd power button behavior

Post by PsyberEMT »

Just picked up an MCS2000 M1 VHF. I think I'm having trouble with the ignition sense, but I'm not 100% sure. Firmware is 5.58. Radio has the accessory plug with pins 1&2 and 4&9 jumped. I added a pin to 15 per the diagrams I found for ignition sense. No matter the state of the ignition source on the bench, on / off, connected / disconnected, the radio simply won't power off with the switch. I've tried setting ignition switch to both blank and soft power off in CPS and the behavior is the same. As soon as the radio gets main power it turns on. When I press the power button to turn it off it either just messes up the first character on the display and freezes or simply resets. Any ideas?

I think I figured out what happened. Apparently the RIB died while the radio was being programmed creating a semi-corrupt codeplug. Kicked a 01/82 error, but the radio accepted the codeplug after another read. Sounds like I need a clean SREC. Anyone have an SREC for a Model 1 VHF 25W MCS2000? Model M01KHL9PW4AN.
