I have a UHF Quantar set up in the 70 CM amateur band. It works well except that the receiver squelch stays open which transmits the receiver noise when the user unkeys until the transmitter drops out. Is there somewhere to set the receiver squelch to immediately close when the user's carrier drops out.
Thanks,
Jim, KJ7NW

Re: Quantar Squelch Tail Issue
Your users need to enable reverse burst on their radios. However, if you are running CSQ, then all you can do is tighten the squelch.
Re: Quantar Squelch Tail Issue
Is it PL or CSQ on the Quantar RX?
Re: Quantar Squelch Tail Issue
Look for and set RX to AND/OR Squelch.

Solved
I think Will hit the nail on the head.
By going to the Channel information Screen: Main<F4><F4>; Analog Rptr Hold-in from PL/DPL to Carrier and PL/DPL the problem was cured. Although it says and since it is hold-in instead of "let go" it becomes an OR. It will stop repeating if either one is lost.
By putting this setting in the machine works perfectly.
Thanks for all responses.
The next issue for me is how to get a courtesy tone out of this repeater.

Re: Quantar Squelch Tail Issue
You need an external box for that.
