PM400: Muting The Front Speaker

Post by W2PAX »

I have a streaming audio feed that I remotely manage that uses a PM400. The local host, even with the minimum volume, wants to mute the front speaker, BUT still turn it on if they want to listen to it. Is there a way to do this through the 16 pin connector? I ask because this feed once employed a GM300 for the same purpose, and this was accomplished by splicing a toggle switch between the internal speaker + and the external speaker +. Worked splendidly. Splicing the toggle between the same function pins on the PM400 doesn't produce the same result.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Dave S.

Make sure you are in expert view in the CPS. Under accessories, check handset. Then the internal speaker will only work when a mic is plugged in and hung on the clip.
