APX7000 HMN4104b Accessory Connector Question
We recently moved from the XTS5000 to the APX7000 and are using the HMN4104b Speaker Mic (display + channel knob). We use a TCI Liberator III headset and rather than utilizing a stadard PTT cable I am interested in spec'ing out and adaptor cable that just goes to the 8 pin accessory plug on the speaker mic. I cant find any info about the 8 pin plug, the speaker mic overall is IP68 rated but does anyone have any specs for the plug itself? Is it a proprietary Motorola plug or are they available to accessory manufacturers, is there an actual name/model number for it, is it available to accessory manufactures? Also does anyone have a pinout for it? The only accessory I see Motorola offer for it is a listen only earbud setup, can you transmit through this plug and use the speaker mic as your PTT? If anyone could steer me toward some info or documentation I would be very appreciative. Thanks guys!

Re: APX7000 HMN4104b Accessory Connector Question
It is a version of the "classic" Hi-Rose (Hirose?) connector.
I would suggest contacting TCI directly. They should be able to tell you if you can get transmit audio into that plug.
Before they sold to Safariland, they were always willing to work custom configurations. I have not dealt with them since The new parent company (whoever is the current parent company of Safariland.)
I am running the same radio and mic configuration, so I'm interested in your results.
