Vhf to low band bridge....any input greatly appreciated

Post by pitcbr »

This is what I am working with....

On the Vhf side I have a gateway with E&M signalling 600 Ohm balanced port. On the low band side I have a base station that is controlled by dsp 223 and the dsp 223 is connected via land line to a remote about 8 miles from the site.

I was successful in making a cable that enables this function however I had to bypass the dsp 223 and hook it up directly to the low band base station.
It works great however the base station has lost remote control and the customer has to have it.

Some of my research on this forum pointed me to the Telex ip224 or Zetron 6302.
Also I found a company that sells audio bridges that claim to interface different radios/bands

My question is what would be the best way/equipment to interface both of them so that vhf Rx and Tx through low band and vice versa?

Any input would be greatly appreciated

The IP-224 will work for you. Put the VHF radio on port 1 configured for local mode and the low band on port 2 configured for tone mode. Then just patch the two ports together on the web interface and you're off to the races.
