I can't seem to get any audio out of a truking maxtrac that has been converted to a conventional 800 unit. It appears ok and the light flashes when a signal is received. There are several jumpers inside, do any need repositioned? I tried moving them around with no luck. I know the speaker is good and I can probe around on a couple of the jumpers and get unsquelched audio off them directly to an external speaker. I can't figure it out.
Does anyone have any ideas? I wonder if the audio pa is bad or is there a squelch gate hanging up somewhere?

Thanks

did it have audio before? What did you do to convert it to conventional? Do you have the jumper in the 16 pin plug?

The radio had a blank controller and I intitialized it as a Maxtrac 300 800 mhz.
What pins need to be jumpered that you refer to?

You should have a jumper from pin 15 to 16 on the 16 pin conector on back of the logic board. Also, if this was a trunking radio, you will probably have to change the ROM chip to a conventional chip.
Keep on talking
