I have a gp300 vhf currently set at 4 watts. Is there a way to make it five?
thanks Ed

Well, you may be able to turn it up some more in the RSS but you should have a wattmeter handy when doing it. I would think you would also have to make sure your deviation and stuff is right as well. If you can't get over 4 watts out, I think there is a pot on the radio itself but I'm not sure about the GP300's. Maybe someone with knowledge of them can help. How is your battery?
All the transmitter adjustments are in the RSS Service section. There is three power settings in the RSS, Low , Medium and HI.
Also there is a power setting on each channel
for Low, Med or Hi.
There is not any "pot" adjustments in the radio.
Make sure you have the correct antenna port adaptor connector and a good cable and wattmeter.
You can be thrown way off on power measurments with out it.
Most VHF GP300's will do 6 W or more on the correct test connections, unless it is a LPI version which should do three watts.
