As I learned, the Destrak RSS is not used to program frequencies and such in this radio- Maxtrac RSS is used. What exactly is the Desktrac software used for then? When I went to use it, it asks you to set the programmer switch to positions 1, 2, then 3. What programmer is the RSS refering to? I assume it is not the standard RIB. I don't really see any information on Batlabs about this "Maxtrac in a box."

The switch that you are talking about is in the front of the desktrac under a little round cover that is under the power light.
The desktrac software programs each of the radios inside the unit. One is for transmit, the other is for recieve. The third spot programs options on the control board. If the desktrac only has one radio in it you can use the maxtrac software to program it if the switch is in the right place. Hope this helps.
