Looking for simple dispatch console

Post by sheriffjimmylee »

I am interested in finding a simple used dispatch console. What I am looking for is one that I can moniter (RX only) at least 5-7 channels simultainiously, and have transmit capabilites on about 3 separate channels (for a total of about 10 channels). The centracom series II are very appealing to me but I have gathered that there is alot of parts that make those consoles happen, and alot of money that can be involved in buying bits and peices to complete it. I just need a simple desktop console I can connect the vhf radios to and not have to worry about a bunch of special rss programming, (aside from properly programming the radios connected to the console) Any information and/or ebay links would be of help. Thanks in advance! :D

Console

You might try a Command Star or a Command Star Lite. They will run you in the 10-15,000 dollar range. They are stand-alone units that connect to the respective base station.

Post by gtcradiotech »

sheriffjimmylee,

GAI-Tronics makes a 12 Channel Dispatch Console which will fit all of the requirements that you are requesting. You can view specifications of this Console at http://www.gai-tronics.com. Scroll down the page and click on the link "ICP9000." This unit can be purchased with options for under $5000 NEW!

Gai-Tronics manufacturers the Command Star and Command Star lite for Motorola. You can buy the Gai-tronics model and save, only problem is that the non-Motorola tagged console lacks integrated MDC.

Actually, the Command Star series is made by CML in Canada.

Gai-Tronics bought out Instrument Assoicates a few years ago, and the Command Plus console and the Comtegra that Motorola sold back then was made by them. The Gai-Tronics ICP9000 is the same thing as a Command Plus, only with a different case.

I think Gai-Tronics has renewed their license agreement with Motorola and is now again offering products with MDC1200.

This is easy. Getcha 1 IDA 2088 multiline controller and slap a cheapo CSI remote on top.

By far the cheapest way, and it will do exactly what you said above.

Too bad your not in the Southern part of louisiana. I have 2 old GE DC control consoles that you can have. I think they each can handle 6 radio channels.
