Has anyone found a successful way to run the older DOS RSS programs using Win 2000 or Win XP?
Actually, I can run the programs from a Win 2000 DOS window, but reading and programing the radios doesn't work.
Using RSS with Win2000 or XP

It's a real problem, because those Operating Systems format the hard drive as NTFS, as opposed to FAT (DOS & Win9X). This makes your regular DOS 6.22 or Win9X boot disk virtually useless. When you boot with these disks, you will not be able to access the "C" drive due to the different filing system. It might work for smaller RSS like HT600, MTX800/810, etc, because you can run them from a floppy after the boot disk is used (processor speed issues aside). Larger RSS (MTSX, MCS, Astro, etc)which require installation to the hard drive cannot function from a floppy. You could create a RAMDrive large enough to install these RSS with the boot disk, if you know how, but you'd have to do it everytime you wanted to use the RSS!
You CAN create a boot disk with WinXP that will allow you to access the "C" drive, but it can never emulate DOS properly due to the different filing system. MTSX seems to run OK, but forget the older stuff.
Your best bet - get an older DOS computer, they're virtually free nowadays.
Another option, create a DOS 6.22 partition on your WinXP computer with Partition Magic or comparable program. Be advised you may still have processor speed issues, especially with the older RSS.
