Look...thats a problem I dont think that you can correct by just asking someone over an internet board....if you want to corect it, then learn a little about the radio and some common problems or troubleshooting that may occur...buy the part (thats assuming you take the time to look every single little motorola part up that goes with the problem your having), and fix it....other than that...its probably more woth your effort to just pay someone to fix it...ask Monty ([email protected])...he's got reasonable prices and he sure as hell know's alot more about that stuff than your local motorola shop down the street. Monty's an ol' school baller who really know's his stuff...if you want....check out his website at: http://www.metrotech.com or some sit like that, I think hes got labor prices on there too but I'm not sure.

PS..Monty you owe me 20% for that company plug ....just kidding, but you can always hire me for an advertising person when you got the budget

Hi:

My site is still under construction, as we
have been collecting alot of material to fill
all the Blocks ! It will be alive sometime.

Anyhow, the real address is
http://www2.4dcomm.com/metrotech/homepage.html

Anyhow, getting back to yor MT1000 Problem, and well, you may indeed have a problem.

1. Our frinds @ Scamberg for whatever reason
is no longer supporting the MT1000 which I feel is one of the best work horse radios Motorola ever built for Commerical / Industrial Service.

Now that is out of the way, the [ 88 ] I am
sorry to report is a serious issue. I really
don't believe the con-verta-com had anything
to do with its failure., however there is a
1st time for everything.

Perhaps the physical shock of placing it into
the Mobile Fixture may have done some physical or componet damage.

I would urge " Extream Care : at this point.

If your radio will not read....STOP .

Make sure you are using a Stable Computer
Platform, 386-486-25 recommended, a Factory
Rib Box, and a good Programming cable.

If you can read/write to your HT600, try the
MT1000 ( and make sure the program contacts on top are nice and clean.

Beyond that, your radio may have suffered either a Code Plug Corruption, or a Controller failure. If you are not able
to find someone local, I can sometimes restore them if not too badly corrupted.

In either case, Service on those is not really cheap, however, I am less than 1/2
of what the Service Depot use to charge.

In general, its on the order of 125.00+ shipping....I know the price is tough, but
dealing with MT1000's and spending hours on them is sometimes nerve racking.

And programming / alighning a MT1000 is not
a easy task !!

Anyhow, give it some thought, and perhaps others will toss in their tech tips.
