I have a 48 mode MCS 2000 800MHz radio with a C head.I was able to clone it with a 160 mode MCS 2000 with a J head. Now when i read the radio it shows a J head and now has all the features of the 160 mode radio....smart zone etc...but theres a C head on the radio. Is there a way to change it to show a C head ?
Because the radio has a C head on it,i can't change the any of the button options.

I think you're left with having to change the control head on it. You can swap control heads between models, but as you've found, the display & buttons are screwed up. To my knowledge, there's no MCS LAB RSS floating around to make the changes you want. Interestingly enough, the MTSX LAB will read it & allow you to make changes to the display/keypad configuration, but I don't know what would happen if you tried to write the changes back to the radio...
