I Have a P110 2 channel and need to expand it to a 16 channel. I need info about how you do this. Or a program for this.

Hi Larry, I beleive it depends on the date of manufacture as to weather it can be upgraded. Check batlabs model specific info to make sure, I want to say if it was made before 1992 it can be upgraded, if it is after that you are out of luck. The program you need to do this is a program called Toolkit developed by a Canadian company called C+ Systems ltd. That company is the whole reason that Motorola started making impossible to upgrade 2channel GP'S AND p110'S.

I have an earlier P110 with a 1994 date which I am told is under the time // changed them so they could not be hacked to add channels. I will have to try a couple of methods to see which one works.
Meanwhile I have to build a couple of Repeater interfaces and a extender interface, that should keep my busy part of the week.

I have had some p110's with manufature dates
of november 93 that would not do the 16 channel conversion. The foolproof way to check the radio is remove the channel knob
and check the frequency as you turn the knob.
If it reads ch1, ch2, ch2, ch2 the radio will
do 8 or 16 channel. If it reads ch1,ch2,ch1,
ch2,ch1,ch2 you can "not" make it a 16 channel radio. If you are fortunate enough to
have a radio that you can upgrade, the info
from the hoffis pages work fine. You do not
need toolkit. Good Luck.
