Antenex CW42 and Q27S

Antenex CW42 and Q27S

Has anyone had any experience with the CW42 which is antenex's wide banded 1/4 wave base loaded antenna? Right now I am using the C47 which isnt very wide but works OK.

My other question is that I would really like to use a 1/4 wave whip (not base loaded) but I want to be able to use it on a NMO mount. But I need something that isnt so thick and heavy that it will tear my roof apart. I looked at teh Q27S wich is a CB 1/4 wave I could trim it and I was wondering what that was like.

btw yes....yes I know all about the 1/4 wave ball mount :D
