Hi there,
I try to look for info in the encryption section but couldn't find it. What is DES OFB encryption ? Is it interoperable with DES/XL or DES ? Which keyloader should be used to load the code ? DES or DES/XL or other special KVL ?
Thanks in advanced.

DES-OFB is the "output feedback" mode of DES operation that was specified by APCO for use on APCO-25 systems. It is not interoperable with DES-XL or DES-CFB (cipher feedback). A dual crypto DES-OFB/DES-XL module is available for radios that require both XL and OFB. A module capable of DES-XL would be also capable of DES-CFB. DES-OFB can be loaded with a "DX" version KVL or a KVL-3000.

To encrypt conventional ASTRO must you only use OFB or can you also use DES?
