MAXTRAC M120 blanking problem LOGIC BOARD
Moderator: Queue Moderator
Well, I pulled a good one, after doing several maxtracs, I figured the RADIUS M120 was the same deal, well I blanked the board and reinitilaized it as a maxtrac 300 16 ch. Worked fine, when I went to put the 16-32 ch head on it, I realized the connections are different....now I cant get it to go back to its original configuration. I havet he OEM codeplug, wehn I tried to load it it says " ERROR NUMBER 30 HAS OCCURED, SERIAL NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH" when I try to clone an identical radio it says "PRODUCT LINE MISMATCH"... any ideas?
When the Maxtrac RSS says serial number mismatch it seems very confusing because you know that the codeplug doesn't actually store the serial number.
What is going on is that the first three digits of the serial number - like 428 - are the APC - the product code that is different for different Maxtracs - conventional, trunked, etc.
If you can blank the board again with Maxtrac RSS - do that - then reinitilaize the radio with RADMBL RSS as the correct model. Then you can reload your Radius codeplug.

HI:
Well.....I am afraid your radio will
only be a Maxtrac after blanking the
board. I can restore the GM300 Logic Board , but it is major hassle.
GM300's and other similar radios based on
the GM300 design does not have the same
set up as a Maxtrac / Radius Mobile.
Anyhow, if you wish, I can restore the
basic radio for you @ less than 1/2 of what
Motorola charges.

Well, I figured out an easier way, I blanked the board EXT codeplug not sving tuning data, then I used maxlab to access eeprom F9, and read another M120 ( same model ) I then wrote it to the broken one...I now have 2 radios with the same serial number but its working good again. thanks for your help guys.

Check the Codeplug Hacking section on the GM300 page, you should be able to figure out how to correct the serial number by using the info there. On 2002-01-16 12:32, narc29 wrote:
