Ht1250 limited Kepad to full keypad

I know that this subject has been beat to death, but I have a few questions still. I need to use my ht1250 for autopatch and was wondering if I converted my limited keypad to a full keypad if it would be able to do this? What are the drawbacks to changing the radio from limited to full keypad? Thanks
