What radios do you own?: Too many

Post by PETNRDX »

I have several M-10'S. I have read here before that you can add channels.

I have added two channel fronts, and hacked two channels.

My question is, can I blank these boards with MAXTRAC LAB, to add the multi channel panels.

I would think so, since this is the same board as in a GM300, but since they are a different product line I figuered I better get some hints.

These boards have no EEPROM.

Hi:

My recommendation....Don't !

Upgrading the GM series radios is nothing
like the Maxtrac / Radius Mobiles.

Although sometimes you can get the Extra
Channel to work ( 2 ch ), getting them to
do 16 is another issue.

Of you have a Virgin ( Not Blanked ) Board
it is possible., however be aware ~//~
never made SW for upgrading the GM series
as they did for the Maxtrac Series.

If you should go ahead and give it a try, and
you end up with a corrupted code plug, I can
restore the basic radio platform back to its
original ( or a upgraded state )

Sorta depends what you wish to do. Due to
Check-Sum values, its just a little tougher
to do and is beyond most persons....

I have spent many hours working on the GM
Series.

I was afraid of that. Glad I asked.

I have made many of the M-10's work as two channel. I think I will stick with that.

I suppose the other option would be to replace the Logic board with a 9313 from a 800 trunking radio, but by the time I get logic board, multi channel front panel, firmwear, and spend any time on it, its not really worth it.
