What radios do you own?: Too many

Post by PETNRDX »

I have recently gotten an MCX1000 VHF, 56 ch, by 8 ZONES.

The "Help" files are missing from the RSS.

So, what are the X , R , T , 1 & 2 supposed to do it the scan list choices?

Also, any body explain how to use the "user difinable" scan list. I am sure it relates to the above question.

Any body got a service manual to sell for the MCX1000?

It's been a while since I've had to program my MCX1000, but I believe the X,R,T are
Carrier, Repeater, and Tone. I have mine set up with X, since I don't have PL set up for receive tone on any of my channels.
The 1 and 2 are for priority scan, but your radio has to have the Fast Lock synthesizer in order for this to work.

Hope this helps.

This explanation was in the help file.

To enter a mode scan type, and also to add it to the current scan list, type one of the following codes.

X - carrier squelch
1 - priority 1
2 - priority 2
T - tone squelch
R - repeater tone squelch
L - mode locked out of scan list

To assign priority to the mode while retaining a specific scan type for use if this mode is later made non-priority from the front panel, add 1 or 2 to the scan type, such as X 1 - priority 1
R 2 - priority 2

If it is desired to omit the mode from the current scan list, but not lock it out, type N or N O. The mode scan type will not be shown, indicating that the mode is not in the current scan list, but defaults to "X" if a carrier squelch mode, or "R" if a PL/DPL mode, ready to be scanned if this mode is later added to the scan list from the front panel.

Thanks for the replies, now it makes some sense, and I can get on with the programming and installation.
