Has anyone used their 450-520 HT1225 or HT1550 down to 440?? My Jedi stuff works down there no problem, but I am thinking of replacing my mt2000 with a ht1550 mostly becuase of the call alert encode capability. It wouldn't be worth it if the radio doesn't work well in the ham band, though.

Thanks to all!!!!

There are two UHF HT1250/HT1550 models. The low split 403 to 470 Mhz and the high split 450 to 512 Mhz.

I have the low split UHF HT1250 and it covers the 70cm band with no problem. Just get the right radio and you will be fine.

Thus far I have not seen a mod to allow the high split UHF model to the 440 band.

Hope that helps.
